A selection of photos and lovely words from Brenda-May in Canada
I am sending along a little picture of The Countess of the Belfry this morning.  She was looking at the website and is smitten with the panda wearing nothing but a ruffle and a chocolate bow.  Now she knows he's in the roundup of bears on their way to the bear fair, and she may have start praying that he doesn't sell there, which may not please her original mum...but she still wants to know how tall he is, because she thinks he may be suitable to be The Count of the Belfry!  She's been waiting a long time for her Count.

"Groucho" is so special, and so perfect,
and he has a little story, so to speak...
As soon as I saw him, he touched my heart.  When I was growing up and someone was grumpy, I'd ask my father "What's wrong with that person?" and my father would reply "Groucho".
 That was always his answer.
When I saw "Groucho" on the web site,
he brought a huge smile to my face,
and a wonderful memory that comes back to me every time I look at him.

Groucho, pictured above, set off such touching memories for one of our collectors, thank you Brenda-May
Just sleighing by...., and getting into the swing of the festive season with my friends, in Canada

Sitting beside a picture of my father when he was a young soldier.

This photo brought a lump to our throats as Seraphim was especially named to commemorate our collectors late father.

Dear Maureen and Keith..
I'm having a good time, there's a great view from up here! Don't worry, I won't fall,
I have my safety belt on.
 Love, Maximillion :)

"You know, Seraphim...that's a really big frog."
"It is, Max...it is!"

And I was only going to the Garden Centre !!!!!
I have finally finished putting down my "turfs". And what a memorable ending it was. I had already made two trips to the Rona Garden Centre on Friday to get some more rolls of sod. At about 8 in the evening I could see that two more rolls would be needed to really complete the job properly. I figured if I went and got it, then I wouldn't have to go in the morning, and Saturday is always very busy at the Garden Centre. So I decided to go and get the last two sods. I'm almost at the Garden Centre, about 30 feet from the road that turns into it, when suddenly a car comes racing out of the parking lot to the right of me. The driver smashes into two of the parked
cars in his attempt to get out of there, swerves, screeching onto the street, missing me by a hair as I'm going by, and then he is RIGHT behind me. So, I pull over, figuring since he's smashed two other cars he won't hesitate to smash into me to get me to move.
He scrapes by, approximately an inch between us.
In the meantime...two police cars are right behind him, sirens blaring, lights flashing...I stay really still at the side of the road, they whiz by and then the driver that is trying to escape turns, not into the Rona Garden but onto the road in the opposite direction, and he smashes right into a red truck coming up that road. Meanwhile...3 other police cars have come from that direction, the escaping driver is now stopped, having smashed into another driver...and the police cars are all around, kind of in a circle....the police officers get out, guns drawn, and eventually apprehend the fellow, handcuffing him and tossing him into the back of one of the cuisers. All this, and I only went for my last two rolls of sod. Instead I got a front row seat in a police chase! Anyway....it was really unnerving!
After about 10 minutes of just following the old rule of "lie low and sing small", made for situations like that I suppose, I made the turn into the Garden Centre, purchased my sods and went home. Almost everyone in the store had gone out to see what all the commotion was, and I just wanted to get away from it! Came home, made a cup of tea and was glad to have come
away from it unscathed. So ends my tale of the laying down of the sods!!!
